Fitness circuit training will take you through a series of exercise stations , with very little rest time between exercises . The number of exercises or stations may range from four to ten.

Historically , workouts involving circuit training were developed to increase muscular endurance and included exercises to help improve muscular endurance such as the bench press, push-ups, leg press and sit-ups.

A circuit would consist of 4 to 10 stations with a low impact aerobic warmup and cooldown station (a stationary bike can be used ). The exercise stations could be set-up using free weights and/or weight machines that train one muscle at a time .

An example of circuit training exercises using your environment would be through par course exercise training. This style intersperses walking or jogging with numerous muscular endurance, strength and flexibility exercises

Aerobic circuit training is particularly very popular with the betterment in the overall health for women.  Four to ten aerobic exercise stations are used with 1 to 5 minutes per station with a fifteen to thirty second rest between stations , this is counted as one circuit. The different stations will be set up with stationary cycling, elliptical rider, treadmill, step climbing on a stair master at a moderate pace and the use of a rowing machine.

It will depend on the number of stations that are set-up but the number of circuits completed commonly adds up to 20 to 60 minutes of aerobic exercise.

One thing to remember that will help you to be successful is to not train to failure at each station. What I mean by this is when the appointed time is coming to an end for that station, you should be able to complete the designated time with out having exhausted yourself.

You should be training some where between fifty percent and seventy percent of your functional capabilities

When training in circuit training you will notice an improved muscular and aerobic endurance, increase in strength and last but not least healthy weight loss.

How To Ensure You Lose the Right Weight When You Are Working Out

 As a trainer, I hate seeing when women are working so hard to lose weight and yet they keep struggling to lose anything at all.   I know it might be hard, but what you have to know is there is a reason and a clear explanation why this is happening and it can be solved. 

 The first thing you have to do, and it’s tough, is to stop using the scale to weight yourself.   Your weight from the scale is a mix of so many different things and it cannot come close to giving your an accurate depiction of what is really going on in your body. 

1. Your Burning Fat and Building Lean Muscle

 Have you ever seen the picture comparing a pound of fat to a pound of muscle? The fat is 8 to 10 times bigger in size.  So if you are really doing things right and weight training for women is part of your routine, you are probably building lean muscle. 

This does not mean that you are putting on size.  What you are doing is building that lean muscle and it’s eating the fat and that is taking inches off your body so you are really getting slimmer and leaner. 

2. Not Changing Your Workout Enough

 This is actually one of the most common problems for not just women, but men too.  Too many women will do the same exercise routines over and over and be driven crazy because results never come. Your body is designed to get used to and master things.  That’s why when you workout, you will feel your body getting stronger and faster, it’s mastering the workout and you need to keep giving it new stimulus. 

 It’s easiest to make sure that you’re changing your workout at least once every month.  Doing this will ensure that you keep seeing those results. 

 3. Not Changing Your Diet 

 This is a problem that so many people struggle with and it kills your chances for great results.   So many women justify their bad diets and eating of junk food by saying they can do it because they are now working out… so it all evens out.   This is not the case because a bad diet will affect your body more than a really good workout.   Food plays so many games with your body that all the energy and work you’ve put into your workout plans will be for nothing.
